Day 9 - 中秋节快乐 @ 11:02:00 PM
今天是华人农历八月十五日,所以我向大家
说声中秋节快乐~!!
Today is Mid-Autumn Festival, our lesson ended early so as we can have a early dinner and gather as a class to celebrate the festival. As far as I know, celebrating this festival in China and Singapore is different as they don't carry lantern around, instead this festival is a time of family gathering where they will sit down together, chit-chatting eating moon cakes and enjoying the full moon.
But today, is kind of special...we gather as a class instead of family to celebrate this festival. We had moon cakes, we play games and we had fun together!! Thanks to Yu Chuan that plan out the games within such a short given notice!! =D
Reflection
Different country practice different style of celebrating a same festival. Even though, both Singapore and China celebrate Mid-Autumn festival but the people in China take it seriously. As they were given 3 days of holiday, most of the student went back to their hometown and gather with them family. But for me, whenever it come to this day, I don't gather with my family. In the past, when I was young, I still often play candles, carry lantern with my Dad and Mum but as I grow older all this seem to stop as everyone is busy with their own things. Hmm, so let us learn from China as how they free up time to gather as one family, pulling their relationship together.
